This is only an INTENT to chaperone and does not guarantee you will be selected.
You are encouraged to sign up for the Friends and Family Tour Package while waiting for the chaperone selection process to be completed. Deposits made to the Friends & Family Tour Package will be transfered to the chaperone travel account, if you are selected as a chaperone.
One form is needed for EVERY adult who intends to chaperone.
No deposit is due with this form until you are accepted as a chaperone.
Parents should return completed forms to their student's CURRENT band director.

Monday, December 27, 2010
	Torrance Marriott Hotel 3635 Fashion Way Torrance, CA 90503 310-316-3636 http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/laxtr-torrance-marriott-south-bay/ Lunch/dinner on your own ($$) at Del Amo Mall (shares parking lot with hotel). Afternoon to enjoy the indoor/outdoor pool, mall, etc.
7:00 - 9:00 pm	Possible playing rehearsal this evening in the hotel ballroom.
Tuesday, December 28, 2010
6:00 am	Continental Buffet Breakfast with 1 hot item each morning at the hotel.
7:00 am	Load buses and depart to Arcadia High School
8:00 am	Approximate arrival atArcadia High School.
8:00 - 10:00 am	Rehearsal at Arcadia. Immediately afterward, load buses and transfer to Universal Studios Hollywood.
10:00 am	Depart to Universal Studios Hollywood.
11:00 am	Arrival at Universal Studios Hollywood. Spend the day at *Universal Studios California. Hollywood, the movies and television come alive at this real working motion picture studio and theme park. It’s the only place on earth where you can go beyond the screen and actually “Ride the Movies!” After the park closes this evening you will exit to the Universal City Walk* – a fascinating collection of shops, restaurants, movie theater, etc. You will have time to shop for souvenirs, have dinner ($$) in one of the many restaurants or at the food court before returning to the hotel for the evening.
10:00 pm	Evening return to the hotel

Wednesday, December 29, 2010
7:00 am	Continental Buffet Breakfast with 1 hot item each morning at the hotel.
8-10 am	Director/Drum Major Meeting in Pasadena.
TBD	Band will do a playing rehearsal on the mall parking lot.
10:30 am	Load buses and depart for the Rose Bowl.
11:30 am	Arrive at Rose Bowl parking.
11:50 am	Have photo made in front of the Rose Bowl
12:30 pm	Walk-thru Float Viewing Brookside Tent.
1:10 pm	Load buses and depart (1:20pm) to Pasadena City College.
1:50 pm	Arrive at Pasadena City College.
2:00 pm	Eat lunch - In 'N Out Burgers provided by the Tournament of Roses
3:00 pm	Enter Warm-up
3:50 pm	Arrive at stadium staging.
3:55 pm	Arrive at field staging.
4:00 pm	Bandfest Performance - followed by pass in review. Change clothes, pack instruments/equipment.
5:00 pm	Load buses - transfer to Santa Monica Pier. This evening we'll take you to one of Southern California's beautiful beaches for some fun - play volleyball, frisbee, swim if you are brave enough! Dinner ($$ - on your own) while at the pier.
8:30 pm	Load buses and transfer back to the hotel for the evening.

Thursday, December 30, 2010
7:00 am	Continental Buffet Breakfast with 1 hot item each morning at the hotel.
8:00 am	Load buses and transfer to *Disneyland Resort* for the day. Today you’ll spend the day at the Disneyland Resort – your “Park Hopper” ticket will allow you admission both to *Disneyland* and *Disney’s California Adventure. Dinner ($$)* (on your own) while in the park or at Downtown Disney.
TBD	March in the parade down Mainstreet USA as a final warm-up for the Tournament of Roses © Parade. (Buses transfer to backstage - time TBD - performance).
TBD	Evening return to the hotel.

Friday, December 31, 2010
6:30 am	Continental Buffet Breakfast with 1 hot item each morning at the hotel.
7:30 am	Load buses and depart to Hollywood and Highland - location of the Hollywood Walk of Stars/ Graumann's Chinese Theater/Kodak Theater.
8:30 am	Approximate arrival at Hollywood and Highland. 1 hour to explore.
9:30 am	Load buses and transfer to *Knott’s Berry Farm* for the day – California’s “Original” family park – lot’s of great “thrill rides” at this park. Lunch ($$) - on your own.
4:00 pm	Load buses at Knott’s and - transfer to Medieval Times (10 minute ride).
5:00 pm	This evening you’ll attend the dinner / show at *Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament* before returning to the hotel for an early bedtime in preparation for the big day tomorrow!
7:30 pm	Load buses and return to the hotel for the evening.

Saturday, January 1, 2011
	Box breakfast will be provided this morning.
5:30 am	Spot buses for band and staff at the hotel. Load 11 buses for band and staff at the hotel. Load and depart for parade. Band will go to the parade formation area. This time could be a little later depending on position in the parade line-up.
5:30 am	Load 2 buses for chaperones / family at the Torrance Marriott. Load and depart for Parade Grandstand Seating.
8:05 am	This is it! The 2011 Tournament of Roses © Parade! You will be performing before tens of thousands as you march down Colorado Blvd. and literally millions worldwide on TV. At the end of the parade route, the band will be served lunch by the Tournament before returning to the hotel.
12:00 pm	Approximate arrival of chaperones back at the hotel.
12:30 pm	Upon arrival chaperones will have a nice seated luncheon awaiting you. This afternoon you’ll have time to rest, watch the reruns of the parade (it is replayed continuously throughout the day on KTLA Channel 5, swim or spend some time at the mall. Buses will be released on arrival back at the Torrance Marriott today.
7:00 pm	This evening we’ll have a pizza dinner followed by a DJ dance to celebrate your successful tour to Southern California.

	Continental Buffet Breakfast with 1 hot item each morning at the hotel.
TBD	Spot buses per flights (TBD) at the Torrance Marriott. Charter buses will transfer each group back to LAX and/or SNA to check-in for flights home today. (approximately 500 people).

Plans are in place to utilized BHS and RHS band trailers for transportation of instruments and luggage to and from Los Angeles.

PRICING NOTES ON TOUR PACKAGE: This early in the process we cannot actually determine guaranteed bus cost, theme park admissions, etc – so we have made our best educated guesses at what those costs might be in arriving at these ESTIMATED prices. As we move forward we will work to solidify accurate pricing and will make every effort to improve this pricing if possible. We are confident that the prices presented should be a maximum cost for the tour packages.

*PROJECTED TOUR PAYMENT SCHEDULE FOR STUDENTS & CHAPERONES

DUE MAY 15, 2010: **$200.00 per person tour deposit plus signed contract

*Deposit for all students and chaperones will be $200.00 due with a signed contract by May 15, 2010. Future payments for students and chaperones should be at least 25% of the total trip amount each time. Both student and chaperone payment amounts may be higher than $200.00 depending on the number of occupants in their hotel room.

**Any student with outstanding band fees will not be allowed to sign up for the trip.

STUDENT PARTICIPATION CRITERIA

Must be current on all band fees

Must be passing all classes at the end of the 1st six weeks

Must participate in UIL Marching Contest

Rose Parade Fundraising

Fundraising efforts for the Rose Parade © will be done collectively on a district-wide basis. Individual campus band fundraising for the Rose Parade © will not be allowed. The goal is to have no more than three major fundraisers for the purpose of raising funds to lower the final payment of student participants. Students wanting to travel to the Rose Parade © are expected to participate in fund raising efforts for this trip.

Wiley G. Thomas Coliseum

2:00 Concert includes North Ridge Middle, Smithfield Middle and Watauga Middle Honors Bands

4:00 Concert includes Haltom Middle, North Oaks Middle, North Richland Middle and RIchland Middle Honors Bands.

Birdville High, Haltom High and Richland High School band students will perform in concert with the middle school bands at both performances.
